Clapotis progress

Well, I've finished the setup rows, and the 1+6 sets of increase rows. I'm going to add at least one additional set of increases, since I ordered an extra skein of LLL&L and figure I can afford to do at least that. I think I'd rather have a wider wrap that's the same length as the original than a long skinny one. I'm going to try and finish the increases before labour starts, so that when I go into the hospital I'll have some mindless straight rows to do, and no decisions to make.

Still no baby, but I'm hoping s/he comes sooner rather than later, because if we wait much longer, I'll have a toddler on my hands. I'll keep you posted :-)

It's here :-)

My Lorna's Laces Lion & Lamb, not the baby, that is ;-)

I haven't tried to photograph it yet, since it was too late last night, and I'm debating not even trying at all. I'd looked at many of the colorways online before ordering, and after seeing this stuff in person, not a single photo was able to capture the gentle shine of the silk. It's one of the most beautiful yarns I've seen in a long time (even Hubby had to admit it).

I walked to the lys this morning on the way into work to pick up a circular so I could cast on, and was really peeved to find them closed, with no sign on the door for explanation. Walking extra distances ain't so easy for me these days, and I don't want to have to go again. I could wait until the weekend - I'm supposed to take a drive there with Hubby's aunt - but I'm not entirely confident that this baby will wait until then to begin the arrival process.

Ooh, I was bad.

I just spent money.

On this.

Actually, technically *I* didn't spend the money. It's my birthday present from Hubby, who is so terrified of getting me a gift that I might not love with all of my heart that he constantly asks for advice. He is also constantly telling me that when I take the time to pick up my knitting on a regular basis, I'm happier, calmer, more relaxed, and so he supports yarn-buying.

I'm feeling a little guilty, but he was also planning on buying me a gift once the uterine tenant gives up its lease to live here in the outside world, and I told him this could count for that too ;-)

Eek. I wonder how long it'll take to get here. I wonder if I can finish the baby sweater first. I wonder how I'll manage :-)
