I'm one of the gang now!

:-) Finally got my Ravelry invite, and it's coooooool (username Scientknits).

I actually got it almost a week ago, and I haven't succumbed to the vortex just yet. I haven't had that much time to concentrate on digging out the best stash photos, or photos of my completed projects, but I'm starting.

If you haven't checked it out, and you're a groups-type of person, you definitely should give it a look. My favourite feature is the ability to search patterns and see what other people have done with the projects I'm contemplating. I don't have complete confidence in my yarn choices yet, but it's comforting to see that other people have used trekking for Pomatomus, for example. I'm still sitting on the fence about starting a sweater, but I can look up what others have done with Mariah, Samus, or Josephine.

It's an excellent resource, and it gets my hearty approval!

Sorry for the delay, folks.

I know there are probably at least two, maybe three, people out there curious about my absence :-)

Long story short, I've been quite ill since I got back from my trip; actually, I've been ill since the middle of the trip, but I'm just darn good at hiding it.

According to my older brother, whose wedding I stood in on September 1st and whose guests I all fooled (not a single one guessed I wasn't feeling well), the pictures even came out well. It's a rare compliment from him when he says, "There are some pictures in the proofs where both you and R. (the wife) look rather Audrey Hepburn-ish, you know."

I have an appointment with the appropriate specialist on Wednesday, and I'm just trying to keep my work afloat. My boss is great, but I'm not sure if he's willing to be forgiving for an undefined amount of time without a specific reason. I'm finding full days nearly impossible to work, though, and I can't seem to get past that.

So, until the next time, I leave you with this.

The haul from August.

Details will come soon, I promise.

Vacations should have recovery time built in.

Like now, for instance. I have tonnes of stuff to do today and tomorrow, and I'm still exhausted.

The pictures are on my laptop at home, and I'll try to post sometime soon. I just need to get through the next two days without collapsing.
